2020 Personnel Committee Report

In November 2019 we welcomed our church secretary, Sally Basdeo. She continues working here 10 hours a week. With the church being closed during several months into the Covid-19 pandemic we welcomed Sally back into the office in September. We are grateful for Sally’s role in keeping the church office open for calls, weekly bulletin preparation (paper and electronically), record keeping, mailings and other vital church needs. She continues to work closely with Pastor Ken to keep weekly and special services going smoothly during historic changes with this pandemic. Thank you!

The Music Director(s), Lenore & Dimitri Kauriga continue to express their joy of offering music services at BPC. They were certainly challenged this year with the sudden shut down of in-person services in March with the Covid-19 pandemic and did they ever rise to the occasion and provide uninterrupted and consistent music virtually! Unfortunately, many of their special musical presentations traditionally performed throughout the year were curtailed but we still enjoyed several special presentations virtually. Thanks and praise to Lenore & Dimitri for sharing the Glory of God through music!

A portrait of Rev Dr. Charles H McClung, Pastor Emeritus was hung in the sanctuary early this Fall.

Rev Wonderland completed his 9th year here at Bensalem Presbyterian Church. Unfortunately, Ken had to cancel his sabbatical in 2020. This year Ken and music staff, accepted a 1% salary increase. Please see the Pastor’s annual report for details of his activities. I cannot end this report without expressing wonder and God’s praise of Ken and Sue’s amazing work in producing comprehensive, thoughtful, creative and expert social media skills to provide weekly worship services, special services, prayer meetings, Zoom church meetings and more to keep BPC thriving and providing spiritual care to all of us. We humbly thank you both!!
